The Cyclades, islands of unparalleled natural beauty, unique, divine rocks that dominate the Aegean, have always been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for visual artists.
“Painting Tzia” at Marina Keas Gallery, a painting exhibition with themes taken from the island itself, one of the most beautiful and best known for its artistic movement islands of the Cyclades.
Tzia is one of the most beloved destinations of travelers, both because it is close to Attica, but also for its very special atmosphere. Otzias, Vourkari, Koundouros, Ioulida, became the subjects of paintings, which will be exhibited in Vourkari in August.
Irene Kana and Panagiotis Tountas, each with their own artistic proposal in an exhibition titled "KEA-TZIA" will coexist artistically at the Marina Keas Gallery.
Irene Kana will present her latest work with landscapes from the island, approximately 20 works of various dimensions.
Art Historian-Critic, Manos Stefanidis, among others, writes about the artist's landscapes:
"What is Irene Kana painting, deep down, when she sets her canvases on fire with monsters and shadows, with vermilion and ochre, with warm orange colors and blue violets, deep symphonies?
She paints, in my opinion, the memory that is being lost. The voluptuous, wet moments that have passed, the ideal images of an adolescent daydream. The painter's ambition is to turn every form of love into an image. Love for life, for people, for things perhaps, that is why her paintings are so sensual, so juicy with their embossed, pasty brushstrokes."
And Panagiotis Tountas will present new works with the same theme, seascapes from Kea.
Art critic, Eleni Depou, writes about his work:
“In Panagiotis Tountas’ recent creation, the sea is the protagonist. The sea that appears as a source of life, encompassing all its possibilities.
Tountas’ style is imbued with a unified spirit of tradition and shows how many different ways the artist can express himself without missing the deeper spirit he represents.
Some experienced images are the starting point for the compositions. This dialogue and his mental emotions that the painter captures from nature, the clouds, the sea, the horizon. He managed to capture aspects, light, color that he dreamed of for a long time, that he completely immersed himself in, in a fleeting moment.
