It is a special joy for someone to closely follow the remarkable path of young artists whom he had the good fortune to meet from the first steps of their career, to follow their impressive gradual development and to see them today already recognized and creative visual artists!
This is the case of the painter Panagiotis Tountas, always tireless and a quality creator, who designs, paints and recreates in his exceptional works a peculiar world of forms, mainly beloved landscapes with seas and impressive residential complexes.
Tountas' magical color gives his images the prestige that belongs to them and to the pictorial details of his entire work the power that the artist himself possesses and is entitled to receive.
His landscapes transmit thousands of different messages, filling the viewer with stimuli because Tountas always focuses on their generous side, capturing their magic, strength and at the same time their majestic calm.
The extremely strong color "marriage" in the last section of his works, which are presented from May 29 to the end of June at the Historical Archive-Museum of Hydra, the unique, almost transcendental glow of light in his new landscapes that permeates the atmosphere, often making it transparent, the permanent design merit with which he perceives and renders lines and volumes are exclusive elements of Panagiotis Tountas' art that create vibrations of vitality even in the most unsuspecting viewer, since it is precisely through these elements that he himself lives and moves in the spaces of the depicted landscapes, breathes their fresh air, the aura of the sea that frames them, is bathed in their sunlight.
Hydra always fascinates and inspires him and his new painting unit is dedicated to the beloved island where he took the first steps of his career, experienced the peace and harmony of its houses and picturesque cobblestone streets in almost all seasons of the year and drew this inexhaustible inspiration from its eternal light.
Panagiotis Tountas studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts under P. Tetsis.
He has had nine solo exhibitions and has participated in many group exhibitions.
His works are currently in the collections of the Hellenic Parliament, ALPHA BANK, the Historical Archive-Museum of Hydra, the Municipality of Hydra, as well as in many other private collections.
